Graceful melodious tenderness at Saraswathy Pooja

Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar’s composition ‘Vellai Thamarai Poovil’ in praise of Goddess Saraswathy is recited during Navarathri, especially at cultural festivities on the 9th day, marking the final day of dedication to the goddess of wisdom.

This year is Saraswasthy pooja is observed on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.

She is beautifully dressed in a white silk saree with red and gold border, seated on a white lotus. She plays the veena, which indicates that she plays the melody of life.
